1 John 2: 18-27
An important characteristic of a Christ follower is a sound doctrine and theology. While no one can claim to understand all things, John tells us true Christians pursue a right understanding of God and His Word, and avoid doctrinal error and heresy. If we truly love God, we will naturally want to learn more about Him, and so every believer is in some sense a “theologian”. The question to ask ourselves when looking for signs of life is, “Do I want to grow in my knowledge of God, and am I attempting to do so?”
All of us will naturally believe what we want to believe.
Look to the Word – rather than the world – to know what to believe about God.
