Text: Matthew 21:1-11, Revelation 7:9-17
Palm Sunday marks the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. For the first time in his ministry Jesus allowed people to openly express their hopes that he was indeed Israel’s Messiah. The entry was celebrated but very unlike the entrance of other kings into royal cities. In fact, if the original triumphal entry was all we knew about Jesus kingdom we would be unsatisfied. Thankfully the original triumphal entry was only the beginning of “Jesus unmasked”. We have a complete picture of His kingdom in Revelation 7: 9-17. When we compare and contrast the historic entry with the scene in Revelation 7, profound practical truths for how we live our lives begin to emerge.
