The last three verses of Jonah’s prayer lead us to ask some important questions about our relationship with the Lord.
- WHY is it that troubles and trials are necessary to get us serious with God? (2:7)
- WHAT are the idols in my life, those good things that I have turned into ultimate, indispensable things? (2:8)
- WHEN I use the word “salvation” what do I really mean? Does this word affect my life in real and practical ways? (2:9)
Jonah is learning in a new way what compassion for others should look like as he experiences the grace and love of God in his own life through his rescue and second chance to obey.
