Christ Alone

“Christ alone” means there is nothing that can be added to the perfect life and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ to make us acceptable to God. There is no one else who earns merit or serves as a mediator who can benefit our standing before God (see Acts 4:12, 1 Timothy 2:5 and John 14:6). The churches in Galatia began wavering from “Christ alone” by thinking salvation was Christ plus the works of the law. Paul denounces this in the most severe language ever uttered.
