There are a number of opportunities to serve our homeless community this Christmas season, including homeless men, homeless women, and the larger homeless community. There are also opportunities through the year to serve at Frenchtown Breakfast in the Park.
Homeless Men (Westgate Community)
We are collecting boxes of toiletries to give the men of Westgate Community, a homeless ministry run by Glen and Beth Burns (who also operate Chelsea House, see below).
Here’s what to include in the toiletry boxes:
- Inexpensive watch
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Bar of soap
- Shave cream
- Pair of socks
These will be a blessing to the men as they look for employment. Pack them in a plastic, shoebox-sized container with lid and bring them to the drop-off near the church office. Contact Troy Anzalone at (850) 766-2551 with any questions.
Homeless Women (Chelsea House)
HIS Lunch Bunch (formerly Tea Group) is serving 40-50 homeless ladies at the Chelsea House Community Tea on Fri, Dec 12. They are in need of volunteers to help serve. Contact Shirley Campbell at (850) 893-2609 or Virtigo1@aol.com to learn more.
Christmas Potluck at Lake Ella
Come share a meal and some Christmas joy with our homeless friends and families in need. Bring a favorite dish or dessert!
Frenchtown Breakfast in the Park
This is a special ministry to the homeless throughout the year. The first Sat of each month, volunteers serve breakfast to the homeless at 8:15am behind Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Leaders provide a message during the meal, and a time of worship afterward.
Contact Eric or Theresa Camil at (850) 894-0418 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
