Virus Preparedness

Dear Wildwood Church family,

Many of you are no doubt concerned about reports regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). I want to reassure you our leadership is aware and has a plan for different scenarios. For now, we are keeping a close eye on updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health as well as Leon County.

Our staff has been vigilant in cleaning and disinfecting protocols throughout the church facilities. Our priority will always be a clean and healthy campus for all guests, members, students, and kids who use the facilities throughout the week.

For now, all worship services and Wildwood activities remain scheduled.

Future updates will be posted to our website (, Wildwood Church TLH mobile app, Facebook and Instagram. If there is a major cancellation or another high priority announcement, we will send another email like this one.

It is our policy that when Leon County schools close, we will also close and suspend activities at Wildwood.

In the meantime, it is critical that every one of us help keep our church family and community safe and healthy, especially those most at risk of sickness -- whether that be coronavirus, flu or any other virus.

The best way you can help prevent the spread of viruses is to follow these CDC recommended hygiene practices:

  • Please stay home when you are sick (7 days minimum is recommended).
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or use a tissue to cover it, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • In addition, rather than passing the offering plate in our worship services, for the immediate future, our deacons will be available at the end of the services as you leave to gather any offerings near the exits.

As always, we know none of this escapes God's attention. He remains our ultimate source of hope and protection. We will trust God and act wisely.

I encourage you to pray on behalf of our church, our community, and all those affected by the virus and those working to contain and stop its spread.

On behalf of our Executive Leadership Team,

David McNeely
Senior Pastor
